This plastic set from the manufacturer Trumpeter contains several pieces of the Su-33 Flanker fighter in 1:700 scale. It is not a stand-alone airplane model, but an accessory intended for populating models of aircraft carriers and other ships in the same scale. The parts tend to be molded in clear plastic, so they can be left as they are for a glazing effect, or repainted completely. Glue, paints and the target ship model are not included in the package.
The Su-33 is a Soviet and later Russian carrier-based multirole fighter derived from the Su-27. It is a twin-engine machine with folding wings and an arrestor hook, adapted for operations from the deck of an aircraft carrier. Its service began in the 1990s aboard the carrier of the Admiral Kuznetsov class. It serves mainly for the air defense of a naval formation.
The parts are very small, so separate them from the sprue with a sharp knife or with photo-etch scissors and clean them up with feeling. Thin cement for plastic or super glue is suitable for gluing. You will manage the painting with a brush as well as with an airbrush; it works well to lay down the base color first and the small markings afterwards. The finished aircraft are seated on the flight deck or in the parking spots.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
