An injection-molded plastic kit of the Russian 15U175 launch vehicle (TEL, transporter-erector-launcher) of the Topol-M missile complex in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Hobby Boss. The model captures the massive multiaxle chassis vehicle that transports, erects and launches an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM). Check the exact package contents and the number of marking options against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
Topol-M (designated RS-12M1/RS-12M2) is a modern Russian intercontinental ballistic missile complex, which followed on from the older Topol system. The mobile variant is carried on a heavy multiaxle wheeled chassis, which gives the missile mobility and makes it harder to find. The TEL vehicle serves to transport the missile in a transport and launch container, to erect it into the vertical position and to launch it. The complex forms part of the Russian strategic nuclear forces.
This is a long multiaxle vehicle, so proceed by subassemblies (chassis, axles, container). Paint the running gear and the axles before you cover them with the superstructure. Do not glue rubber or soft tires with ordinary cement for plastic. For modern Russian equipment a single-color green or a camouflage scheme suits; bring out the panel lines with a wash and apply fine dust pigments to the chassis. Even in 1:72 scale this is a large and striking model.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
