What is documented about the item

A decal sheet for plastic aircraft models in 1:72 scale. The name of the item is cut off and does not say what is printed on the sheet. Only what is genuinely documented is given here; the content of the sheet is not stated here, so go by the illustration and the instructions on the packaging.

Before you order the item

Other sheets with an equally incomplete name exist, so they are easy to confuse with one another. Once the shipment arrives, check that the list of artwork in the package matches what you ordered, and compare it with the model you want to use the decals on.

How to apply the decals

Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions whether it is a self-adhesive version, because a soaked self-adhesive film is ruined beyond repair. With the usual wet version the procedure is as follows:

• give the area under the decal a coat of gloss clear, because silvering forms on a matte surface
• cut the artwork out as close to the print as possible
• dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest on a paper towel until the film releases
• slide the decal from the backing into place, move it with a brush and blot off the excess water
• on a broken-up surface use decal softener and, once dry, give the whole thing a matte clear coat

Supply

The decal sheet alone is supplied. The model, paints, glue and clear coats are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
