About product

A-20G Havoc masking set 1:72 (Eduard)

A die-cut self-adhesive masking set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a model of the American attack aircraft Douglas A-20G Havoc in 1:72 scale. This is not a model but a set of pre-cut masks for precise painting of the framing of the glazed cockpit and the other details.

The real subject

The Douglas A-20 Havoc (called the Boston by the British) was an American twin-engine attack and light bomber aircraft of the Second World War. Instead of a glazed front, the A-20G version had a solid gun nose with heavy cannon and machine gun armament, and it was widely used by the Soviet Air Force as well.

Use

  • Separate the individual masks from the sheet and stick them precisely onto the glazing frames.
  • Press the edges of the masks down firmly with a wooden stick or a toothpick so that no paint creeps underneath.
  • Spray or brush the areas and carefully lift the masks off once the paint has dried.
  • Make use of the masks for the wheel rims and the other small curved areas as well, where straight tape is hard to shape.

Who it is for

The set will be appreciated by modelers who build American attack and bomber aircraft of the Second World War in 1:72 scale and want sharp, cleanly separated glazing frames without the long job of masking by hand with tape. It suits beginners and experienced builders of display models alike.

This is a die-cut masking set, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included unless stated otherwise.
