A three-dimensionally printed colored interior of the Grumman A-6E Intruder in 1:72 scale from Quinta Studio, carried on decal paper. The set is cut for the Fujimi kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This interior set from Quinta Studio replaces the flat printed instrument panel with items that have real depth: domed dials, protruding levers, control knobs and the side consoles. Everything is printed three-dimensionally and colored in production already, including the tiny lettering and the colored frames. According to the name the set is cut for the Fujimi kit, so the shapes fit into its cockpit tub with no time-consuming adapting.
The items are cut out, dipped in lukewarm water for a moment and slid into place, that is exactly like an ordinary decal. In one thing they differ, however: a softener is not used here, as printed resin does not stand up to it. Nothing has to be painted. Keep the base smooth and rid of grease; once it has dried, a thin matte coat unifies the surface and at the same time hides the edges of the carrier film.
The Grumman A-6E Intruder served the US Navy as a carrier-based strike machine for attacks in all weather. It had a two-seat cockpit with the seats side by side, subsonic flight and, for its time, an exceptional payload, so it was able to find and hit a target at night and in dense cloud alike. The version designated by the letter E brought a more modern radar and guidance set and it stayed in service until the second half of the 1990s, when multirole types took over from it.
The package contains the interior items on a carrier sheet only.
