Stencils for painting the landing gear bays of the A-7 Corsair II attack aircraft in 1:72 scale, cut for the kit of the Fujimi brand.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set serves for bounding the openings into which a wheel retracts on an A-7 Corsair II model. It is cut for the Fujimi kit, because the same subject comes out from other manufacturers as well and the shape of the bays differs from one to another.
The Corsair II came about at the Vought company by shortening and lightening the airframe of the supersonic Crusader. The designers sacrificed speed in favor of range and bomb load, which was exactly the US Navy's requirement for a replacement for the aging Skyhawk. It first flew in 1965 and only two years later it was operating from decks in Southeast Asia. The accuracy of its navigation and targeting equipment was exceptional for the day and the crews nicknamed the machine the SLUF. It stayed in service into the 1990s.
First spray the inside in a light tone and let it dry. Then cover the area and only after that move to the outer camouflage. You will save yourself correcting overspray with a brush, which on so small an area tends to show. Anyone who wants to go into detail adds a faint shadow in the corners and accentuates the edges with a dry brush.
