A finished collector model of the AH-64D attack helicopter in Israeli Air Force markings, with the fuselage number given in the product name. The model from the maker Easy Model is assembled, painted and marked in production. It is not a kit: you do not get sprues or decals, but a finished example ready to be displayed.
The AH-64D is a later generation of the Apache attack helicopter. It keeps the basic layout of the type, that is a tandem cockpit with the gunner in front and the pilot behind, two turboshaft engines at the sides, a four-blade main rotor, fixed landing gear and a traversing gun under the nose, but it differs in reworked avionics and in the option of carrying a surveillance radar in a housing above the main rotor head. The pylons at the sides of the fuselage serve for hanging armament and auxiliary fuel tanks. The type in this version was operated by a number of foreign users outside its country of origin as well.
For helicopters 1:72 is a practical compromise: the model is large enough for the main shapes and the markings to be apparent, and at the same time it fits beside fighters and transport aircraft of the same scale, with which sizes can then be compared. An Apache beside a single-engine attack helicopter of the previous generation shows how much the type grew. In a display case leave free space around the rotor and do not lean the model against the glass, as pressure on the blades is the most common cause of permanent distortion.
The model is supplied finished, assembled and painted. Nothing is glued or painted.
