An airport tow truck is an inconspicuous but indispensable machine. An aircraft usually does not move around the apron under its own power; backing away from a stand under its own thrust is practically impossible, and on heavy machines it would also be dangerous, so it is the tug that pushes it off the stand or tows it to the hangar. Its shape follows from that: a low body so that it fits under the nose of the aircraft, a short wheelbase so that it can turn on the spot, and a high weight of its own, because otherwise the wheels would merely spin. The cab is usually glazed all round so that the driver can see the nose gear as well as the signals of the ground marshal.
In 1:72 scale the tug is a small vehicle, yet one that is noticed at once in a display case, because it gives the aircraft a sense of size and the scene a story. It shows best in a diorama on the apron, by a hangar, or while towing a machine out to the runway.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the rest off, and choose the glue to suit the material of the parts. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Airfield equipment tends to be strikingly colorful, because it has to be seen on the apron, and at the same time it gets dirty quickly from fuel and rubber; a saturated base color, a dark wash around the chassis and drivetrain and scuffed edges along the sides therefore look convincing. Fit the cab glazing only after painting, and use a glue for clear parts that will not fog it.
