Responsibility details are not available.
A kit of the French AMX VCI tracked armored infantry vehicle in 1:72. The model fits into the line of postwar French equipment that ACE covers systematically in this scale; it is followed by further vehicles built on the same chassis and by related wheeled machines. The number of parts, the contents of the package and the range of decal schemes are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.
The AMX VCI is a French tracked armored vehicle intended to carry infantry, created in the 1950s on the chassis of the AMX-13 light tank. Compared with the tank version the hull was raised and adapted to carry an infantry squad; the armament consisted of a machine gun or a turreted weapon station according to the particular form. The vehicle stayed in service for decades and was exported to a number of other countries, where local modifications and specialized variants appeared.
Assemble and paint the running gear before you close the hull up; in 1:72 you can barely reach the wheels and tracks later. Fit the tracks after painting the underside and before fitting the fenders. With small parts it pays to clean up the parting lines patiently with a sharp scalpel and to dry-fit before any glue is applied. Spray a thin primer as the base so that the engraved detail shows. Keep the weathering restrained: a thin wash into the recesses and only a discreet layer of pigments on the underside, as strong effects look unnatural in this scale.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
