Eduard 1:72 An-2 is a photo-etched detail set, not a model. It adds fine metal details to a plastic An-2 kit that injection-molded plastic cannot manage.
Responsibility details are not available.
This product is not a kit but a photo-etched detail set in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker Eduard. It contains fine etched parts that refine and bring a plastic An-2 model to life, adding and replacing details that injection-molded plastic cannot capture faithfully.
The An-2 is a single-engine Soviet biplane from the Antonov design bureau, one of the largest series-built single-engine biplanes ever. Powered by a radial engine, it served from the late 1940s as a multipurpose machine: an agricultural aircraft, a light transport, a paratroop and a liaison type. Thanks to its short takeoff and landing and its exceptional reliability it still flies today; a large part of the production was built in Poland. Its NATO reporting name is Colt.
The etched parts are intended for advanced modelers. The individual parts are separated from the fret with a sharp knife, bent on a photo-etch bender or over a sharp edge and joined with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); larger areas can also be soldered. Degrease the parts before gluing so that they hold well. The assembly is evened out by spraying a primer, followed by airbrushing and gentle highlighting with a wash. The set is an accessory for a plastic An-2 kit in 1:72 scale, which has to be obtained separately.
