Apennine Eurofighters Part IV is a sheet of waterslide decals in 1:72 scale from the brand Model Maker for models of the Eurofighter Typhoon. It is not a kit but an accessory for the closing stage of the work, when the model is built and painted. According to the name it is the fourth part of a multi-part series.
Silvering and how to avoid it. The commonest fault with decals arises not during the gluing but as early as the painting. When a decal is laid onto matte or grainy paint, microscopic air bubbles stay between the paint and the carrier film. These catch the light and a silvery outline forms around the printing, which is very hard to put right once it is dry. Hence the modeling term silvering.
Overcoat the painted area with gloss varnish and let it mature properly. Trim the decal close to the printing, so that as little transparent film as possible is left. Use soft water or water with a drop of dish soap, so that it wets better. Once it is in place, press the water out with a cotton swab from the center outward and let the model dry in peace. Finally even the whole surface out with an overcoat - a matte overcoat will also visually hide any remaining rim of film.
The decals are an accessory for a model. The model, the paints and the varnishes are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
