A photo-etched set in 1:72 scale for a model of the German Arado Ar 234C jet airplane. It completes a kit with fine metal parts that cannot be made in plastic.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Arado Ar 234 was a German jet airplane of the late Second World War, committed to reconnaissance as well as bombing. The C version differed from the earlier configuration in having four engines instead of two. The machine had a slim fuselage, a high-set wing and a glazed nose, so on a model the cockpit and the surface of the fuselage are clearly visible, and that is precisely where accessory parts pay off most.
The set of photo-etched parts for 1:72 scale brings elements of thin metal sheet, that is, shapes that cannot be made in plastic at a matching thickness. The exact extent of the fret and the position of the individual parts on the model are given in the manufacturer's instructions; follow those for the order of the work as well.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface and sand the remainder of the tab down; breaking them out with your fingers bends the edge. Make the folds in a bending tool or between the jaws of flat tweezers, always along the whole length of the edge at once. They are bonded with cyanoacrylate glue in a small amount; on larger areas a two-part adhesive holds better and gives time to align the part. Wash and degrease the metal surface before painting and use a primer intended for metal, otherwise the finish will chip off with handling.
The kit, paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
