The Xtradecal 1:72 Avro Shackleton MR.2, the second part decal sheet brings further markings for models of the British patrol aircraft. It is a standalone accessory, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal sheet in 1:72 scale from the British brand Xtradecal for models of the Avro Shackleton MR.2 patrol aircraft. The designation second part says that it is a continuation of the series with its own, different set of motifs: the sheet therefore does not copy the content of the previous part. The package consists of printed decals only, and neither a kit nor plastic parts are part of it. An overview of the machines is given by the manufacturer on the packaging of the sheet.
The MR.2 version was the patrol and reconnaissance form of the Shackleton, adapted for long flights over the sea. Against the first batches it had a revised nose and the radar moved into a ventral radome, which improved both the view and the coverage of the area beneath the aircraft. Crews flew patrols of many hours in it, during which they took turns at the stations in the fuselage. Thanks to its exceptional endurance the type was also used in search and rescue operations over the open sea.
The surface of a Shackleton model is broken up by panel lines and riveting, over which a decal has to settle without bubbles. A softener helps: place the decal, blot the water away and only then lay a drop of the product on it and leave it alone. The film wrinkles at that moment, which is normal: as it dries it smooths out by itself and clings to the relief. Do not go over it with a brush or a cloth until it has dried. Before first use, always make a test on an offcut from the edge of the sheet.
The package contains decals only. The kit, paints, varnishes and softeners are not part of it.
