Kabuki masks for the national insignia of the Avro Vulcan B.2, 1:72 scale from the New Ware brand. The insignia are sprayed directly onto the model instead of decals — without silvering and without a visible margin of carrier film.

This set of the New Ware brand is neither a mask for glazing nor a kit. These are masks intended for spraying the national insignia and markings onto a model of the British delta-wing aircraft Avro Vulcan B.2 in 1:72 scale. The material is kabuki paper, which conforms to the surface and leaves no tacky film once taken off.
A decal on the large area of a delta is hard to seat: air is held beneath it, on a matte finish the margin of the carrier film shines and over engraved lines it breaks up. A sprayed insignia has none of that — it is part of the film of finish, so it wears the same way, reacts the same way to washes and pigments and has no edge that could be felt. On an aircraft with such large flat areas that is noticed at first glance.
Roundel insignia are sprayed shade by shade. First spray the area for the lightest color, let it dry and mask it, then the next shade comes and finally the darkest one. Keep every layer thin, so that no noticeable relief arises at the end. Lay the mask onto a gloss finish — on a matte surface it holds less well and the paint runs under more readily. Before lifting, let the last pass dry to the touch and pull the mask away slowly to the side.
The package holds only the masks. The kit, paints and glue are not included in it.
