This photo-etched exterior set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard sharpens up the outer surface of a model of the Boeing B-17E/F Flying Fortress bomber in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft kit and not a finished model, but a set of fine metal parts that replace or supplement the exterior details of a plastic kit, such as covers, panels, raised fittings and other elements of the fuselage and the wings.
The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress was a four-engine heavy bomber of the US Army Air Forces in the period of the Second World War. The B-17E and B-17F versions belonged to the early combat batches with their characteristic tail and extensive defensive armament. They flew above all over Europe and the Pacific and became famous for their toughness in daylight raids.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Bend the fine parts in a bending tool or over a sharp edge, and degrease the metal before painting. An airbrush is recommended for an even coat and a fine brush for touching up the edges.
The set holds photo-etched metal parts only. The base kit, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
