1:72 B-17G Flying Fortress bomb bay is an extensive photo-etched set for the bomb bay of the Boeing B-17G bomber in 1:72 scale from Eduard.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item from Eduard is devoted to the bomb space of the four-engine Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress. It belongs to the full photo-etched range, that is to the broader category of accessories and not to the narrowed selections which deal with only a few of the most conspicuous places. It is made for 1:72 scale, where a plastic molding necessarily simplifies exactly such spaces made up of lattice work and thin sections.
The inside of the bomb bay on the real subject consists of a system of racks, a catwalk for the crew to pass between the forward and rear parts of the fuselage, and dense stiffening of the walls. This tangle cannot be molded in injection plastic at a scale thickness, so it looks needlessly massive. Photo-etched metal solves the problem: the parts are as thin as foil and with the doors open you can really look into the space. A model with the bomb bay uncovered moreover looks good on a stand.
Plan the work before you start gluing the fuselage, because once it is closed you will not get inside. Separate the components with a knife, bend them over a straight edge and glue them with cyanoacrylate in small drops. A simple jig from card that holds a right angle will help with the walls. Paint the finished assembly separately and only then set it into the fuselage, because a brush will not fit between the ribs later.
