Self-adhesive masks for spraying the national insignia and technical lettering of the B-24H Liberator bomber in 1:72 scale. Cut for the Airfix kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Consolidated B-24 Liberator was an American four-engine heavy bomber with a high-set slender wing and twin vertical tails. The H version was among the forms with a rotating turret in the nose, thanks to which the machine had a better defense against head-on attacks.
The set serves for spraying the national insignia and technical lettering instead of decals. According to the name it is cut for the Airfix kit in 1:72 scale; with another kit, check the sizes and the spacing beforehand by laying it on.
Wash the surface under the mask, degrease it and let it dry. Apply the mask to a finished colored base before spraying and press the edges down carefully. Carry the small lettering masks with tweezers or on the point of a blade and work in a good light; lay the paint on them only lightly and in thin coats, so that no ridge forms under the edge. Multicolored insignia are sprayed coat by coat in the order given in the manufacturer's instructions. Take the mask off shortly after the paint has dried, pulling at a slight angle.
The set suits modelers who want the markings as part of the finish and want to avoid decal silvering on the large areas of the fuselage and the wing. The work is slower than with decals and calls for calm, but the result looks like a genuine sprayed finish. This is an accessory: the kit, paints and glue are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
