The color photo-etched set Eduard 1:72 B5N2 Kate for refining a kit of the Japanese carrier torpedo aircraft. It is not a model but a set of fine metal parts intended for the Airfix kit in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A color photo-etched detailing set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, intended for the plastic kit of the Japanese carrier torpedo aircraft Nakajima B5N2, Allied reporting name Kate, in 1:72 scale from Airfix. It is not an aircraft model but a package of thin metal parts. The color photo-etched elements refine above all the pilot's station and the instrument panel, while other parts complete the exterior.
The Nakajima B5N2 was a Japanese carrier torpedo and level bomber of the Imperial Japanese Navy. In its day it was among the best machines of its class and it played a decisive part in the attack on Pearl Harbor and in other battles in the Pacific. The Allies gave it the reporting name Kate.
The color photo-etched parts are pre-printed, so they refine the cockpit without laborious painting; they are separated with a sharp knife on a surface and bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Small elements are held with tweezers, and straight bends are more accurate with a photo-etch bending tool.
This is an add-on set, not a model. The kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
