A photo-etched set for the Bachem Ba 349 Natter in 1:72 scale is an accessory to a kit you have already bought, not an aircraft model. Thin metal sheet replaces coarser plastic parts.

This item is an accessory set in etched sheet for a model of the Bachem Ba 349 Natter rocket-powered interceptor in 1:72 scale, cut for one particular kit, the Brengun one. It is not a kit; the model has to be obtained separately. The accessory is made by the Czech company Brengun.
The Natter is a small model in 1:72 scale, which makes every part all the more visible on it. It is on small machines that plastic components hold up worst for the scale, because the wall thickness stays the same while the model is smaller. Etched sheet removes that drawback: it is thin, it holds a sharp edge and it carries fine detail that a mold for plastic will not transfer. The exact contents of the package are given on the packaging of the set.
The foundation of success with photo-etched parts is surface preparation. Degrease the sheet with alcohol or in a bath of warm soapy water and then let it dry thoroughly. A thin coat of primer follows, ideally one intended for metal, because paint on bare sheet peels off during ordinary handling. Cut the parts off with a scalpel, not with nippers, and bend them before gluing rather than after. Dispense super glue with a pin, and use an accelerator judiciously, as it whitens the surface around the joint.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and it is not a model kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
