Belgian F-16 75th Anniversary is a sheet of waterslide decals in 1:72 scale from the brand Model Maker for models of the Belgian F-16. It is not a kit but an accessory for the closing stage of the work. According to the name it is an anniversary finish, that is, the kind of scheme where the markings do not concern small areas only but pass over a large part of the airframe.
The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a single-engined multirole combat aircraft that formed the backbone of the Belgian Air Force for several decades. Belgian machines regularly appeared at air shows in special finishes for anniversaries, which from a modeling point of view is a rewarding subject - the aircraft is otherwise inconspicuously gray and a striking scheme turns it into the centerpiece of a display case.
The larger a decal, the more every unevenness tells. Before applying them, therefore, check the area against the light, remove any remaining sanding dust and degrease the surface - a fingerprint will show under the film as a matte patch. An even thickness of gloss varnish matters just as much, because a decal laid half onto a glossy and half onto a semi-matte area will adhere unevenly. Large items are better applied in sections, letting the area dry out between the individual pieces.
The decals are an accessory for a model. The model, the paints and the varnishes are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
