About product

Eduard 1:72 Bf 109F-4 painting masks

A set of self-adhesive painting masks by Eduard in 1:72 scale for a model of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109F-4 fighter. The masks are die-cut from kabuki masking tape and serve for a clean spray of the canopy glazing and the edges of the wheels. It is not a kit but a masking accessory.

The real subject

The Bf 109F, nicknamed Friedrich, is held by many to be the aerodynamically cleanest version of the whole line. The F-4 version received the more powerful Daimler-Benz DB 601E engine and rounded wingtips. The Friedrich served on the Eastern Front and in North Africa and was the transitional type between the Emil and the later Gustav.

Use and tips

Stick the mask onto degreased glazing, press it against the frames and spray with an airbrush in thin coats. In 1:72 scale a mask makes crisp framing of the small cockpit frames much easier and saves time compared with a brush by hand.

Who the set is for

  • modelers building the Bf 109F-4 in 1:72 scale
  • enthusiasts of Luftwaffe fighters of the Second World War
  • anyone after clean masking of small glazing
  • advanced and moderately advanced modelers alike

This is an accessory, a set of painting masks, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
