This is not a kit but a set of photo-etched parts in thin metal sheet, with which you add to and refine a plastic model of the Bf 110 version G in 1:72 scale that you have already obtained. The photo-etched parts replace elements whose thickness injection-molded plastic cannot render faithfully — grilles, straps, instrument panels, small fittings and similar details. The particular contents of the sheet, the number of parts and which areas of the aircraft the parts are aimed at are shown by the illustration of the set; compare the contents with the model you are building before you buy.
The Messerschmitt Bf 110 was a German twin-engine aircraft with two to three crew, originally conceived as a heavy escort fighter. The G version from the later part of the war was the most widespread and was deployed above all in the night fighter role; the hallmark of these machines tended to be radar equipment with antennas on the nose, heavier armament and a reworked rear section of the canopy. It is precisely the antenna array, the exhausts with flame dampers and the cockpit interior that are the areas where the difference between a kit from the box and a model completed with photo-etched parts shows the most.
Separate the parts on a hard surface with a sharp scalpel or photo-etch shears, and never break them out — the sheet will bend. Make the folds in a photo-etch bending tool or between two blades, so that the edge is crisp. Degrease the sheet before gluing and glue with a slow-setting cyanoacrylate glue or a small drop of epoxy; larger load-bearing parts can even be soldered. Apply a primer onto bare metal, otherwise the paint will not hold. First cut the plastic originals that the photo-etched parts replace away carefully and sand the surface flat.
