This set is not a model of an aircraft nor a kit. It is a set of photo-etched parts in thin sheet, which a modeler adds to a plastic model of the twin-engined Bf 110 G-4 in 1:72 scale. The manufacturer is the Czech company Eduard from Obrnice near Most, one of the best-known brands of photo-etched accessories in the world. Eduard makes the Zoom range as a shortened counterpart to a full photo-etched set. The Weekend designation in the name refers to the edition of the kit the set is cut for.
Zoom sets concentrate on the places that are most visible once the build is complete, that is above all on the cockpit. Some of the parts in this range tend to be printed in color, so they can be used practically without painting and the laborious coloring of tiny details is saved.
The Messerschmitt Bf 110 G-4 was the night fighter version of the twin-engined two-seat Bf 110 aircraft. It differed from the day variants mainly in equipment for night operations and in an enlarged crew, who operated the onboard electronics. The G version belonged to the late production batches of the type and was fielded in the closing phase of the Second World War.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface, not by snipping them with scissors, or the thin sheet will twist. Make the bends in a bending tool or between two blades, so that the edge is sharp and straight. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue applied in a minimal amount, ideally with the tip of a wire. With parts printed in color, take care that the glue does not overflow onto the visible side. Degrease the unvarnished parts before painting and spray them with a primer for metal, otherwise the paint will not hold.
It is an accessory set, not a complete model. The basic kit, glue, paints and tools are not included in the package.
