About product

The real subject

The Blackburn Buccaneer is a British twin-engine attack aircraft built for a fast run-in at low altitude. The crew consists of a pilot and a navigator sitting one behind the other, so the glazing opens the view into two stations at once. The S.2B version flew with the Royal Air Force, and in 1:72 scale it is precisely the cabin equipment that shows how much work the builder put in.

What the set contains

Colored interior elements produced by 3D printing, with a raised surface instead of a mere print, carried on a paper backing. This is the smaller variant of the set for the same aircraft, that is, a narrower selection of elements than in the full version. The exact extent is given by the maker. The set is shaped for the kit from Airfix in 1:72 scale.

How to work with the elements

Level the surface under the element, remove the molded detail that would make a bump beneath it, and paint the base a dark shade. Briefly soak the sheet in lukewarm water, slide the element off the backing paper and seat it on the gloss varnish that holds it; it has no adhesive layer of its own. A matte base is a mistake. Do not use a decal softener, as it would attack the printed resin. Cut the parts out with a sharp blade and dry fit them in place. Work with tweezers and clean hands, the printed color layer is sensitive to grease. Press the seated element down with a soft tool so that it beds in even in the recesses.

Who it is for

For modelers who want to raise the level of the cabin without painting tiny instruments, and for those for whom covering the main interior areas is enough. Finish the interior before you close the fuselage. What is supplied are the elements themselves. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the package unless stated otherwise.

FAQ

Yes. The sheet is briefly soaked in lukewarm water, the element is slid off the backing paper onto the gloss varnish that holds it, and it has no adhesive layer of its own. Do not use a decal softener, as it would attack the printed resin.

It is shaped for the Buccaneer kit from Airfix in 1:72 scale. With a different kit, dry fit the parts first.

Before the fuselage is closed. Once the halves are glued together you can no longer reach the cabin and the elements cannot be seated.
