Pre-cut masking templates for the glazing of a 1:72 model of the Italian twin-engine attack aircraft Breda Ba.88 Lince. The accessory is meant to take the place of cutting masking tape by hand. The masks are transferred from the carrier film onto the clear part and pressed against the frames; once the paint has been sprayed and the mask lifted, the framing stays crisp, symmetrical and free of adhesive residue.
The Breda Ba.88 Lince is one of the most interesting examples of the gap between a record-breaking machine and a combat aircraft. In prototype form it was an aerodynamically polished design that drew attention with its speed performance. As soon as the aircraft was given its full military equipment, armament and extra fittings, however, its performance fell away sharply and its combat use stayed very limited. As a modeling subject it is all the more rewarding: the slender fuselage, the pair of engine nacelles and the twin vertical tails give the aircraft an unmistakable silhouette you will recognize in any display case at first glance.
Degrease the glazing and lay the masks on dry first. Transfer them with tweezers and press the edges down thoroughly so that no paint can creep underneath. It pays to spray the interior color of the frames first and only then the exterior camouflage; the transition then looks natural even seen from inside. Apply the paint in several thin coats and lift the masks off shortly after it has set, not once the finish has fully hardened.
This is a building accessory. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
