Bristol Fighter F.2B in Polish service is a sheet of waterslide decals in 1:72 scale from the brand Model Maker. It is not a kit but an accessory for a finished, painted model. According to the name the set is aimed at Bristol F.2B machines operated by the Polish Air Force.
The Bristol Fighter F.2B was a British two-seat biplane from the end of the First World War with the pilot and the gunner in tandem. It combined the agility of a fighter with a second crew member, which made it a long-serving type that after the war entered the inventories of a number of other countries, Poland among them. A model of a biplane has a small airframe but plenty of ribbed, fabric-covered surfaces.
It is exactly those ribs that give decals the most trouble. A flat film bridges them and lifts at the edge, so a decal softener is practically a necessity. Seat the decal on a glossy surface first, press the water out from under it and only then brush the softener over its whole area. Do not touch anything while it dries - the film wrinkles and draws itself down into the hollows between the ribs. With more pronounced ribbing, repeat the procedure once it is dry. Watch out also for the rigging and the struts, over which a decal should never be drawn.
The decals are an accessory for a model. The model, the paints, the varnishes and the softeners are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
