The glazing mask Buccaneer S.2C in 1:72 scale from Dead Design is a pre-cut self-adhesive set that covers the glass of the cabin and leaves only the frame free for spraying.
Responsibility details are not available.
A self-adhesive masking set with pre-cut parts for the frame of the cabin. A modeler sticks it onto the clear molding, sprays the frame in the color of the airframe and takes the mask off once it has dried. The glass under it stays clean, so scraping out paint that has run in and repairs with a brush are done away with.
The Buccaneer S.2C was the naval version of the British two-seat attack aircraft with Rolls-Royce Spey turbofan engines. The machine was designed for flight at low altitude over the sea, which is matched by the sturdy glazing of the pilot's cabin and the operator's station.
The key to a clean result is the thickness of the application, not the quality of the mask. Thin the paint more than you are used to and spray it in several very thin coats with a pause for it to go tacky. A thick coat creates a visible step at the edge of the mask, which stays as a ridge around the frame once it is removed, and a wet application moreover easily runs under the film. First spray the shade that is to be visible on the inner side of the frame, then let it dry and only after that go on with the outer camouflage finish. Guide the airbrush straight at the surface; when spraying at an acute angle the paint is pushed under the edge of the mask.
