Decals in 1:72 scale for the American C-130 Hercules transport aircraft. The data gives two finishes of E version machines from operations in the Persian Gulf.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Hercules has been in service with the US Air Force since the fifties and in that time it has earned a reputation as a machine that will land almost anywhere. Four turboprop engines, a high set wing and a loading ramp in the tail made it a tool no larger operation does without. During the concentration of forces in the Persian Gulf at the turn of 1990 and 1991 it was precisely these machines that were among the first to touch down on desert airfields, and then for whole weeks they carried cargo and people between bases.
The data for the finishes describes two machines of the E version. The first is an American example from the time of Operation Desert Storm; the second aircraft served with a tactical airlift wing stationed at the Rhein-Main base in Germany and flew to the Gulf during the preceding phase of the concentration of forces. Both finishes therefore belong to one campaign, but to a different moment and a different unit, which is rewarding for a comparative build.
This is a separate set of decals for finishing off a kit, which has to be ready separately. The dimensions of the artwork follow from the scale given in the name, so they cannot be used on a model of another size. Before application it pays to compare the position of the motifs with the documentation of the machine concerned, because markings changed over the course of a few months of deployment.
