A camel in 1:72 scale from Offset Scale Models is an animal figure for dioramas set in a desert or oriental environment.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an animal figure, not a kit of equipment. It belongs to a line of small animals which the maker makes in several scales, and it is meant above all for desert, Middle Eastern and North African scenes. The number of pieces in the package, the material and the dimensions are stated on the box, and the species of camel is not stated here.
The camel is the classic pack animal of dry regions, and on a diorama it fills more than a decorative role: it determines the setting of the scene at once, without your having to build further buildings or vegetation. It will find a use in caravan scenes, marketplaces, villages and also in scenes with equipment, where a contrast arises between traditional transport and a modern machine. The stance and the long legs are fine in 1:72 scale, so handle the figure carefully.
Separate the figure from the casting block or the print supports with a sharp cutter, sand the trace of the cut and wash the part in lukewarm water with dish soap before painting. Apply a thin base coat. The coat of a camel lies in the light sand to gray-beige range; a brown wash in the recesses and a light dry brush on the back, the neck and the hump will give it depth. Darken the feet and the lower legs and add sand pigment, so that the figure ties optically to the surface of the diorama. If you plan to add a harness or a load, make them from thin wire and plastic film and glue them on only after the base painting.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
