Print Scale Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien (A) 1:72 is a set of waterslide decals that carries the mottled camouflage of the Japanese fighter onto a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of waterslide decals in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian manufacturer Print Scale. This is not a kit, but a separate sheet of decals that carries the complex mottled camouflage onto a finished model of the Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien. The camouflage pattern is printed as a decal, so the laborious spraying of the mottled artwork is no longer needed. Version A represents one of the camouflage solutions on offer.
The Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien, nicknamed Tony among the Allies, was a Japanese single-seat fighter of the Second World War period. As one of the few Japanese fighters it had a liquid-cooled V engine derived from the German Daimler-Benz. It was notable for its slender nose and its good flying qualities at higher altitudes.
A decal is dipped in lukewarm water for a few seconds, and once it releases from the backing paper it is slid onto the surface of the model and its position is adjusted. The excess water is gently pressed out, and a decal softening solution helps it settle perfectly into the detail. The base should be smooth and ideally under a gloss clear coat; once dry, going over it with a matte or satin varnish is recommended.
These are separate waterslide decals. The model, paints and clear coat are not included in the package.
