Die-cut self-adhesive painting masks from Peewit for the Caudron C-445 Goéland in 1:72 scale. It is not a model but a set of masks for cleanly spraying the glazing.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of precisely die-cut self-adhesive masks for the French twin-engine Caudron C-445 Goéland aircraft in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit but an accessory for painting. The masks are die-cut from masking material and follow the division of the cockpit glazing as well as the passenger cabin windows, so they ensure crisp frames without laboriously trimming tape.
The Goéland was a six-seat twin-engine liaison and transport aircraft of the mid-1930s with a largely wooden structure and retractable landing gear. The C-445 version was among the most widespread; it served with the French Air Force and Navy, with civil operators, and after 1940 some of the machines were also used by the Luftwaffe for liaison flights.
Lift the individual masks with tweezers and seat them precisely on the frames of the glazing. Press the edges down thoroughly, so that the paint does not bleed underneath. First spray the glazing with the interior color and then with the covering shade of the fuselage. Apply the paint in thin coats; remove the masks while the varnish has only flashed off, as the edges will then stay crisp. On large areas of glazing the gaps between the masks can be filled in with a piece of tape.
The set holds masks only. The model itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
