About product

IBG 1:72 Centaur Dozer

This injection-molded plastic kit from the Polish manufacturer IBG Models captures the British Centaur Dozer engineering tank in 1:72 scale. The vehicle was created by converting the Centaur cruiser tank into an armored bulldozer for clearing obstacles and for earthmoving work. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.

The real subject

The Centaur Dozer was a conversion of the Centaur cruiser tank in which the turret was replaced by a mechanism carrying a bulldozer blade. British units used these vehicles to remove obstacles, improve roads and provide engineer support, including after the Normandy landings. It was an armored working machine rather than a combat tank in the usual sense.

Building and painting tips

Assemble the running gear, the tracks and the blade linkage before you close up the hull. Use a thin plastic cement and a primer. The single-color British finish comes alive with washes in the recesses and with pronounced earth and dust weathering, which suits an engineering machine.

Who the model is for

  • Collectors of British and engineer vehicles in 1:72 scale
  • Anyone interested in unusual armored vehicles of the Second World War
  • Modelers who enjoy weathering and earth effects

The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.

The British Centaur Dozer, an armored bulldozer converted from the Centaur cruiser tank.

The kit is in 1:72 scale.

No. The turret was replaced by a bulldozer blade, so it is an engineer working vehicle rather than a fighting tank.
