Quinta Studio 1:72 CF-104 Starfighter (the late period): a 3D-printed interior offers color-printed raised cockpit detail on carrier decal paper for models of the CF-104. Intended for the Hasegawa kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A colored 3D-printed cockpit interior from Quinta Studio in 1:72 scale. The detail is printed in several layers on carrier decal paper, so the instrument panel and the side consoles read as three-dimensional and stand higher than an ordinary decal. It is neither photo-etch nor resin, and it is not a kit of an aircraft but an accessory for refining the interior of a model of the CF-104 in its late form. The target kit is Hasegawa.
The CF-104 Starfighter was the Canadian licensed version of the Lockheed F-104 operated by the Royal Canadian Air Force. In the late period, roughly between 1976 and 1986, the machines went through changes to their equipment and markings before being withdrawn from service. The layout of the cockpit that the set reproduces matches this period.
First go over the cockpit surfaces with a gloss varnish (Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22) and let it dry. Cut the part out of the sheet, soak it for about fifteen seconds in lukewarm water and slide it off the paper into place; it has no adhesive layer of its own and holds precisely on the gloss varnish. On broken-up surfaces a drop of super glue helps. Do not use decal softener or fixer, as their chemicals attack the printed resin. The pre-printed colors call for no painting.
This is an add-on set of decals, not a kit of an aircraft. The base Hasegawa kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
