Omask 1:72 Luftwaffe walkways (Oramask)

A universal set of self-adhesive masks in Oramask vinyl masking film intended for spraying the non-slip walkways - the marked areas at the wing root along which an aircraft is walked on during servicing and when climbing into the cockpit. The mask bounds the shape of the walkway, so you can spray it cleanly and with sharp edges. The set is not tied to a single type and suits various Luftwaffe machines in 1:72 scale (5 strips, about 33 mm).

The real subject

On the wings of German wartime aircraft there were walkways marked at the wing root, which protected the covering and kept the crew and the ground personnel from slipping. They tended to be set off from the surrounding finish by color or by an outline.

Use

• Apply the mask to a dried base coat in the place of the walkway.
• Press the edges down carefully against paint running under them.
• Spray the different shade of the walkway from an airbrush or with a brush.
• Carefully take the mask off once the paint has set.
