Responsibility details are not available.
A decal sheet in 1:72 scale from the British brand Xtradecal, focused on the colorful periods in the service of the Vought A-7 Corsair II carrier attack aircraft in the A-7B and A-7E versions with the US Navy. The package contains printed decals only: neither a model nor parts are part of it. It is the first part of a series, each part has its own content and an overview of the motifs is given on the packaging.
The Corsair II came about as a subsonic carrier-borne attack aircraft meant to replace older types for attacks on ground targets. In shape it grew out of a larger supersonic fighter, but it was shorter, more robust and carried a substantially greater load on external pylons. The A-7B and A-7E versions differed chiefly in powerplant and equipment; the A-7E was given a more powerful engine and a more advanced navigation and targeting system. The machines served with the carrier squadrons of the Navy for a number of years and their schemes changed markedly over time.
Sheets focused on colorful periods contain conspicuous large-area motifs: stripes on the tail surfaces, fields of color and squadron badges. With such decals the precision of the trim decides. Cut the surplus clear film around the motif away with a new scalpel blade while it is still on the sheet, close to the printed edge; you will spare yourself a visible glossy border after matting. With a stripe that passes over an edge or a rudder, rather divide the decal into two pieces and set them against one another than draw it over a sharp corner.
The package contains decals only. The kit, paints, varnishes and softeners are not part of it.
