The Curtiss Hawk 75 was an American single-engine all-metal fighter with a radial engine which in its best-known guise served with retractable landing gear. The export version for Thailand, designated Hawk 75N, was simplified and carried fixed, non-retractable landing gear in wheel fairings. That solution saved weight and maintenance at the price of higher drag. The machines were delivered to Southeast Asia in the second half of the 1930s and in the period named they made up a substantial part of the Thai fighter force. The color schemes and national insignia of this region differ markedly from European and American ones, which is the main reason collectors reach for decals like these.
In 1:72 scale the decals are small, so it pays to cut them out as close along the print as possible and to handle them with flat-tipped tweezers. The base has to be smooth and glossy, so spray the model with gloss varnish. Soak the decal in lukewarm water for a few seconds, let it rest, slide it into place and adjust the position with a soft brush. Blot the excess water away with absorbent paper and use a decal softener to settle it over the engraved lines, but carefully, because small decals wrinkle in it easily. Once it is perfectly dry, wash the surface clean of glue residue and seal the whole model with varnish in the sheen you have chosen.
