The item LööKplus 1:72 de Havilland Mosquito B Mk.IV/PR Mk.IV brings resin accessories for a 1:72 model of the twin-engine de Havilland. The manufacturer covers the same subject in the basic grade of the line as well; this is the more extensive version, and the difference between the two items lies precisely in the breadth of the contents.
The Mosquito was built largely from plywood and balsa, and its creators wagered that speed would take the place of machine guns. The Mk.IV bomber version therefore flew with no guns at all and relied on a pair of Merlin engines and on altitude, or conversely on flying on the deck. The reconnaissance version of the same designation was produced by converting the same airframes, only carrying camera bays instead of bombs. The crew was two men seated side by side, which was unusual for a bomber of the day and meant, among other things, that the cockpit is clearly visible on the model through the extensive glazing. That is exactly why cockpit accessories pay off more on this type than on machines with a cramped cockpit.
Before gluing, clean the grease off the castings and cut them from the casting blocks with a fine-toothed saw. A dry assembly will show where plastic needs to be removed. Fit the glazing at the very end so that sanding dust does not get inside.
The box of plastic parts, the paints and the glues are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
