An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the Polish brand IBG models. The real subject is the American Diamond T 972 heavy truck with a dump body in the standard with an open cab.
The Diamond T 972 belonged to a family of heavy military trucks with all-wheel drive, made up of the 968 cargo version, the 969 wrecker and this 972 dump truck. The vehicles served mainly with engineer and construction units: they carried gravel, sand and building material during the construction of airfields, roads and field installations. The designation Softcab belongs to the standard with an open cab and a canvas roof, which replaced the original closed all-metal cab in the course of production. It is exactly the open cab that is the most striking distinguishing feature on a model.
The small all-wheel-drive chassis has many tiny parts, so it pays to clean and glue them in small groups and to let each stage cure. The open cab makes the interior visible, so it pays to paint the seats and the instrument panel before you close the cab up. The canvas parts look better with matte varnish and a gentle picking out of the folds. At the end add dust and mud on the wheels, the fenders and the lower part of the body, and chipping in the places where the crew climbed in and where the load was poured out.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
