Eduard EF 2000 two-seater 1:72 — a painting mask

A self-adhesive painting mask of the Eduard brand in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit but an accessory for modelers, cut from thin yellow masking (kabuki) tape. The mask follows the shape of the frames of the cockpit glazing and other areas exactly, so it is enough to stick it onto the model, spray the paint and lift it off once dry. The result is crisp, clean transitions without laboriously painting the frames by hand. The subject is the European Eurofighter EF 2000 Typhoon multirole fighter in the two-seat version. The model itself is obtained separately and is not included in the package.

The real subject

The Eurofighter EF 2000 Typhoon is a European twin-engined multirole fighter with a canard and a delta wing, developed by an international consortium. The two-seat version is used above all for training and carries a crew seated one behind the other.

Use

• Lift the individual parts of the mask off the backing and stick them onto the glazing and the other masked areas of the model.
• Spray the color of the frames over the mask, let it dry and peel the mask off carefully.
• Masking is done on a surface of the model that has already been base-coated and allowed to dry.
• The open areas of the glazing between the masks can be filled with liquid mask.
