Canopy glazing masks for models of the Extra EA-300L and 330LC aerobatic aircraft in 1:72 scale. According to the name they are cut for the Brengun kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
Extra is a range of single-engine aerobatic aircraft with a low-set wing, built mainly for competition flying and display work. The EA-300L and 330LC versions differ in the layout of the canopy and in their dimensions, but both share a slender fuselage and a large glazed area above it. On a model, therefore, the cleanness of the canopy frames shows a great deal, and that is what painting most often spoils.
Pre-cut masks for the canopy glazing of models in 1:72 scale. The masks are stuck onto the clear part, cover the area of the glazing and leave only the frames exposed, which are then sprayed along with the rest of the model. This does away with laying out strips of tape, a particularly thankless job on the rounded frames of an aerobatic aircraft. According to the name the set is cut for the Brengun kit; with another kit it need not match the shapes. The exact extent of the masks is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
First wash and degrease the clear part, as a mask will not hold on a greasy surface. Always apply the masks before spraying, never over a finished coat, and press the edges down carefully with a blunt point so that paint cannot creep under them. Spray in thin coats; a thick coat creates a ridge at the edge of the mask. Take the mask off while the paint is freshly dry, and pull it across the edge of the frame rather than straight away from the glazing.
The masks themselves are supplied. The kit, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
