A set of pre-cut Eduard masks for the glazing of an F-15E model in 1:72 scale. An accessory to a plastic kit for painting the frames of the canopy accurately, not a model of the aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
Pre-cut self-adhesive masks for the glazed areas of a model of the two-seat F-15E strike aircraft in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. The package holds masking pieces, not parts of the airframe; it is an accessory to a kit. In extent it is a set aimed at the glazing of the cockpit, that is at the place where cutting tape by hand in a small scale turns out worst.
The F-15E is the two-seat strike version of the original F-15 fighter. Against the single-seat variant it has a strengthened airframe, a second station in tandem behind the pilot and provision for carrying conformal fuel tanks and a wider range of external stores. It is precisely the long tandem canopy with its dividing frame that is the most striking feature of the cockpit on a model, and at the same time what determines how the model looks once painted.
Wash the clear parts, degrease them and let them dry. Lift the masks out of the sheet with tweezers, lay them on dry, check how they sit and only then press the edge down with a toothpick. In 1:72 scale the frames are very narrow, so paint really thinly; a heavy coat forms a ridge at the edge that cannot be polished out. Take the tape off as soon as the paint has flashed off.
The package holds the masks alone. The kit, paints and glue are not part of it.
