A photo-etched set for a model of the Japanese F-15J Eagle fighter in the upgraded MSIP form, 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-15J is the Japanese form of the twin-engine F-15 Eagle fighter, which was built under license for the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. The MSIP designation in the name refers to an upgrade program that some of these machines went through and which showed above all in the cockpit fit and the instruments. In shape it is a large aircraft with two vertical tails and sizable air intakes at the sides of the fuselage.
The set is etched from thin metal sheet. It suits places where injection-molded plastic cannot hold a thickness true to scale, that is fine grilles, flat faces and small protrusions. In 1:72 scale such a difference shows at once, because plastic parts have to be noticeably thicker for production reasons.
The set is for modelers who want to see crisp edges and fine detail on a model even in a small scale. Working with photo-etch calls for tweezers, calm and good light, but the result moves a model up a class.
This is an accessory for a kit. The aircraft model, paints and glue are not in the package, unless stated otherwise.
