This etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard adds fine metal detail to a plastic kit of the F-16A Fighting Falcon in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory that replaces and sharpens selected plastic parts of the kit. Sets of this kind usually cover the elements of the cockpit — the instrument panel, seat belts, levers and small covers — etched in thin metal of a kind that injection-molded plastic cannot capture in a small scale.
The General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon is an American single-engine multi-role fighter. The F-16A version is the early single-seat variant, marked by its lightweight structure, fly-by-wire controls and a hinged bubble canopy with an excellent view. The aircraft became one of the most widely used Western fighters and serves in many countries to this day.
Etched parts are cut from the fret, bent along the pre-scored lines and bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate); on larger surfaces a two-part epoxy helps. Tweezers, a photo-etch bending tool and patience are recommended — the set is meant for more experienced modelers.
This is a detail accessory, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
