A photo-etched set in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker Eduard. It is not a model of an aircraft but a collection of fine metal parts that replace or supplement details on a Lockheed Martin F-35B Lightning II model. Photo-etched parts add the thinness and fineness that injection-molded plastic cannot capture, for example covers, flaps, mesh and small panels.
The F-35B Lightning II is the version of the fifth-generation multirole fighter with short takeoff and vertical landing capability. It is powered by a single engine with a swiveling nozzle and a lift fan. It serves with a number of marine corps and air forces and is designed with an emphasis on reduced radar signature.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface and bend them over an edge or in a bending tool. Bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and degrease the surfaces before painting. Bare, unpainted parts benefit from a primer before spraying. Color pre-printed elements, where they are included, are glued in place with no need for painting.
This is a detail set, not a model. Paints, glue and the kit itself are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
