A metal accessory in 1:72 scale for models of the F-4 Phantom II in the versions with a lengthened nose, that is the F-4E, F, G and EJ and the reconnaissance RF-4B, C, E and EJ.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-4 Phantom II is an American two-seat jet aircraft that served with the air force and with the navy and spread to a number of foreign users. This accessory is listed for the versions with a lengthened nose: the F-4E, F-4F, F-4G and F-4EJ and the reconnaissance machines RF-4B, RF-4C, RF-4E and RF-4EJ. The nose is precisely what sets these versions apart from the older machines most clearly, so attention goes to it during a build.
This is a metal accessory for a model in 1:72 scale. Metal parts are used on a model where an injection-molded part does not hold an accurate shape, is split by a lengthwise seam, or is simply too coarse for a slender feature. Metal takes handling, does not bow, and the shape stays sharp even after the surroundings have been sanded. The extent of the set and the exact placement of the parts are described in the instructions from the manufacturer; follow them and try the fit dry first.
Degrease the metal surface before gluing and dull it with a fine abrasive, or paint will not hold on it. It is glued with super glue; cement for polystyrene will not join metal. Apply only a small amount and hold the part until the glue sets. Before painting, a primer intended for metal pays off. Fit the small parts at the end of the build so that they are not bent or snapped off while the model is handled.
The set is an accessory for a kit. The model, paints, glue and decals are not part of the delivery unless stated otherwise.
