F-4D Phantom 1:72 - an Eduard masking set contains pre-cut kabuki paper masks for spraying the glazing frames of the model accurately. It is neither a kit nor decals.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is not a model of an aircraft but a masking set in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard of Obrnice near Most. The masks are cut precisely from kabuki paper, a thin Japanese masking material that follows rounded surfaces well and leaves no adhesive on the model once removed. With them you can spray the frames of the canopy glazing sharply and evenly, without laboriously cutting strips of adhesive tape.
Masking the glazing is one of the least pleasant steps on aircraft models. Hand-cut masks are hard to repeat, they break on curved canopies and paint creeps under them. Pre-cut masks solve this problem: you simply pop the pieces out of the sheet, stick them in place and press them down with a toothpick or the blunt tip of tweezers. Kabuki paper can be shaped even over double curvature, so it fits a more complicated canopy too.
Anyone building a model in 1:72 scale who wants sharp canopy frames without hours of work with a scalpel will appreciate it. It is suitable for beginners as well, because masking tends to be the weakest point of a first model.
This is an accessory for modelers, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package. Check beforehand that the set matches the kit you are building.
