About product

Eduard F-5E Tiger 1:72 - photo-etched detail set

The photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard is intended for refining a plastic model of the light Northrop F-5E Tiger II fighter in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft model but a set of fine metal parts that add details hard to achieve in injection-molded plastic. Most often it enriches the cockpit and other small elements of the model.

The real subject

The Northrop F-5E Tiger II is a light supersonic fighter with two General Electric J85 engines. Thanks to its simplicity, reliability and low cost it spread to a number of countries and it also serves as an aggressor aircraft for air combat training.

How to make use of the set

The parts are separated from the fret with a sharp knife, bent over an edge and glued with cyanoacrylate. Pre-printed color self-adhesive elements are laid down without painting, unpainted parts are sprayed together with the model. Tweezers, magnification and experience are needed.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers who want to raise the fidelity of an F-5E model
  • More experienced builders used to fine work with etched metal
  • Collectors of light jet fighters

This is a supplementary photo-etched set, not a stand-alone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
