Self-adhesive glazing masks for the F-8 Crusader aircraft in 1:72 scale, according to the name for the E, J and P versions. Cut for the Academy kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Vought F-8 Crusader was an American carrier fighter with an unusual wing solution: before landing it tilted to a greater angle so that the pilot could see over the nose while the fuselage stayed more level. It served with the navy and with the Marine Corps and, in a revised form, with French naval aviation as well.
The set is intended for masking the glazing during painting. According to the name it covers the E, J and P versions and is cut for the Academy kit in 1:72 scale.
Wash and degrease the glazing before applying and let them dry. Apply the masks before spraying, press the edges down with a wooden stick and check them against the light to see whether they stand up anywhere. Lay the paint on in several thin coats and let them set, so that no ridge forms under the edge of a mask. If you want the glazing frames in the interior color from inside, spray that first and the top finish only after it. Take the mask off shortly after the paint has dried, pulling at a slight angle.
The set suits anyone who does not want to cut glazing out of masking tape in a small scale and wants the frames equally wide along their whole length. The glass stays protected from overspray and from fingerprints during painting. This is an accessory: the kit, paints and glue are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
