Masks for British roundels on a model of the Fulmar Mk.I and Mk.II in 1:72 let the national insignia be laid straight into the top finish.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set is intended for spraying the British national insignia onto a model of the Fairey Fulmar carrier fighter. The finished insignia lies in the plane of the finish and has no film around it. The dimensions match a seventy-second scale model.
British naval aircraft wore roundels in several forms, which changed during the war according to the theater and according to the part of the airframe. That is precisely why spraying is rewarding: you mix the paint so that it suits the rest of the model, and the insignia does not come across as a foreign sticker. It pays to plan the make-up before you start spraying, because a light field goes on before the darker circle. The base must be dry and free of dust, otherwise a serrated line arises under the edge.
The base must be smooth and fully cured, otherwise paint runs under. Spray square to the surface and in thin coats; with circular shapes an application from the side shows up as a smeared edge. Let the finish air out between individual shades every time and only then go on with the next step. If paint does run under after all, go over the edge with a fine brush in the shade of the base and the trace disappears.
