An injection-molded plastic kit of the famous German Fw 190A-8 fighter in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. Eduard is known for finely engraved detail, a precise mold and rich decal sheets. The model has a well worked surface with recessed panel lines and a detailed cockpit and engine section.
The Fw 190 was among the best German fighters of the Second World War. The A-8 version was the most widespread variant of the A series, powered by an air-cooled BMW 801 radial engine. It was marked by heavy armament and the ability to carry a drop tank or ordnance on a pylon. It was deployed in the defense of the Reich and on other fronts at the end of the war.
A small scale rewards care. Finish and paint the cockpit before the fuselage is closed up. Glue the joints with a thin plastic cement and apply gloss varnish over the sprayed areas before the decals. The typical German camouflage with silvery shades and a mosaic of mottling comes out well with an airbrush and a fine wash into the panel lines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
